As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct and indirect resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse in a community-based long-term care setting. You will work with elderly and disabled residents, assisting with activities of daily living and supporting nursing staff in delivering compassionate, dignified care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily oral care, bathing (bed bath, tub, or shower), and personal hygiene including ear, eye, facial, hair, and nail care
- Keep residents dry by changing clothing and linens when soiled or wet; make beds and change linens as needed and per schedule
- Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions and collect specimens (urine, sputum, stools, etc.)
- Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts using proper gait belt techniques
- Assist residents with ambulation and mobility
- Perform and document resident temperature, pulse, respirations (TPR), weight, and height measurements
- Answer resident call lights promptly and check assigned residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are being met
- Prepare residents for meals, serve and remove trays, and assist with feeding as required
- Distribute drinking water, other fluids, and nourishments to residents
- Assist residents in preparing for activities and social programs; assist in transporting residents to and from appointments, activities, and social programs
- Assist in admission and discharge of residents
- Assist in the care of dying residents and provide post-mortem care
- Organize and straighten resident rooms daily
- Bag soiled linens in appropriate bags, linen bins, and trash cans
- Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse or neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC, or Unit Manager
- Report and document any observed changes in a resident's condition or behavior to the Charge Nurse
- Complete required documentation of care and services as provided
- Give report to the oncoming shift per community policy
- Comply with all community personnel, safety, corporate, and nursing department policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and family information
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and other departments
- Report to work on time and as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in good standing with the State
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to meet general health requirements set forth by State regulations and company policy, which may include medical and physical examinations

- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
