This full-time Certified Nursing Assistant position is based in a nursing facility providing direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You will work the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift, assisting elderly residents with daily living activities and contributing to a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living (ADL) including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, oral care, hair care, nail care, and skin care
- Assist with range of motion, turning, positioning, ambulation, and use of assistive devices
- Take and record vital signs, height, and weight measurements
- Serve meals and supplements; offer fluids every two hours as indicated and document food and fluid intake
- Assist with bowel and bladder training programs
- Change linens and maintain residents' environments
- Assist residents with recreation programs
- Assist in the dining room as assigned
- Read and follow residents' ADL care plans
- Follow assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures
- Observe residents for changes in condition and report to the charge nurse
- Document all care provided on designated records
- Understand and follow all regulations regarding residents' rights
- Prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly residents
- Promote a safe, clean living environment
- Perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor or Director of Nursing
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, hold, and handle residents and equipment

- Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods

Cognitive and Sensory Requirements
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff
- Hear and respond to supervisor instructions, resident requests, and emergency pages
- Monitor blood pressure and respond appropriately to disaster instructions
- See clearly to perform job duties correctly
- Detect changes in temperature through touch
- Detect and maintain appropriate facility odors through smell
Licenses and Certifications
- Must be currently certified as a CNA and in good standing in the state where the facility is located
- Must maintain at least 12 in-service training hours per year
Occupational Exposure
Tasks involve direct contact with blood and other bodily fluids requiring universal precautions (CDC Category I exposure).
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to tolerate a high-pace work environment typical of nursing facilities

- Must be able to tolerate both prolonged standing and walking as well as sitting
