Job Description

Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, a CMS 5-Star long-term care facility in Rochester, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the nursing team. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a setting that recognizes nursing excellence and supports clinical career advancement.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care environment at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, providing direct resident care and support to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in individualized care plans
  • Transport residents to and from activities as needed
  • Provide leisure activities and emotional support to residents and families
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe resident environment
  • Perform evaluation and reporting on resident status
  • Respond to resident requests in a timely manner
  • Receive and give reports to team members and team leaders
  • Support families and direct them to appropriate professional staff

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a New York State approved certified nursing assistant program
  • Current registration as a Certified Nurse Aide in New York State
  • Minimum age of 18

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Associate's degree

Licenses and Certifications

  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) - New York State Office of Professions

Schedule

  • Part-time position: 22.5 hours per week
  • Evening shift: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $19.90 to $20.60 per hour

Physical Requirements

This is a moderate clinical role requiring continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20 to 50 pounds. You will frequently bend, twist, and reach while performing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
