Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), DeMay (Full-Time, Evening)

DeMay Living Center is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time evening position in our Long Term Care department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the nursing team across multiple units, including a rehabilitation unit modeled after a med-surg setting. You will work the 2p-10 shift, every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide and assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in individualized care plans
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed
• Provide leisure activities and emotional support to residents and families
• Maintain a clean and safe resident environment
• Respond to resident requests in a timely manner
• Receive and give reports to team members and team leaders
• Support families and direct them to appropriate professional staff

Schedule

• 37.5 hours per week
• 2p-10 shift
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• Currently certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant in New York State
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow both verbal and written instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

This is a moderate clinical role requiring continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs. You will frequently bend, twist, and reach while performing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. You must monitor patient status and respond to alarms or safety concerns. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are required. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for any physical requirements reported by the employee or employee's physician.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
• Signing bonus up to $4,500
• Shift differentials ranging from $1.50-$4.00
