High Point Medical Center's Cardiac Care Unit is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care, nursing support, and clerical duties in a fast-paced cardiac ICU environment. As a Nurse Technician, you will work alongside licensed nurses to deliver compassionate care to cardiac patients while maintaining a safe, clean unit environment.
Clinical Setting
You will work in the Cardiac Care Unit at High Point Medical Center, a 69-hospital health system serving nearly 6 million patients. The organization is nationally recognized for expertise in cardiology and other specialized clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Maintain a safe patient environment and respond promptly to call lights
- Record vital signs, fluid intake and output, and other patient data
- Collect specimens as directed
- Prepare, assist with, and document patient meals
- Assist patients with mobility and support during transfers and discharges
- Help with patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures
- Maintain unit cleanliness, manage supplies and equipment, and inspect patient charts
- Update, assemble, and maintain patient charts; assist with record requests
- Answer phones professionally, relay messages, and direct physician calls to nurses
- Provide information to patients, families, visitors, and staff
- Assess unit supply needs, maintain inventory, and deliver requisitions and specimens
- Assist with patient care procedures, unit coordination, and staff orientation
- Attend unit meetings and continuing education programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course
- BLS certification
Schedule
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $18.85 to $29.70 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
