Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct patient care in a residential health care facility. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated CNAs, including those with busy school schedules or those new to the profession. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiration
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines
• Assist residents with mobility and daily activities such as walking, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and eating
• Assist with lifting, turning, and repositioning residents in and out of bed
• Assist with eating and drinking, and ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, including activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, food intake, and observations or changes in patient condition
• Report patient information and observations to nursing staff
• Record all entries on notes and charts in a descriptive manner
• Assist with medical procedures such as collecting specimens, dressing changes, applying simple dressings, and monitoring intravenous (IV) fluids under the supervision of nurses or other healthcare professionals
• Communicate important patient information, report changes or concerns, and contribute to the overall care plan
• Address problems identified in the patient care plan

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA certification through Minnesota
• Cleared background check
• Strong communication skills
• Time management skills
• Ability to interact with a variety of people and foster a team philosophy
• Ability to negotiate and interact effectively with staff, patients, families, and professional/regulatory agents

Preferred Qualifications

• Long-term care experience

Compensation and Schedule

• Starting wage: $22.50 per hour, with wages based on experience
• Part-time and full-time shifts available
• Sign-on bonus: $3,500 for full-time positions or $1,750 for part-time positions, paid out over 12 months
