Aveanna is one of the largest private duty nursing companies in the nation, seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide compassionate home-based care to children and adults. In this role, you will deliver personal medical care and assistance with daily living activities that enable patients to remain safely in their homes while maintaining the highest standards of clinical outcomes, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Perform, assist, evaluate, and document medical care including basic first aid, vital signs and weight monitoring, catheter and bowel care with intake and output monitoring, range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance, transfers, and positioning with wheelchairs and other non-life support medical equipment
- Prepare meals according to dietary and nutritional needs
- Provide personal hygiene assistance including bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, dressing, and eating support
- Care for patients' special conditions and needs within the scope of authorized tasks
- Maintain and complete all required patient, family, and company documentation records upon conclusion of each visit
- Observe and report significant changes in patient condition to the RN Nursing Supervisor
- Provide hands-on personal care and performance of simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services
- Provide services ordered by the physician in the plan of care that you are permitted to perform under state law
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current, unrestricted certification or proof of training as required by your state
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (not applicable if the patient is your child or loved one)
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with aide care policies and procedures
- Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to travel
- Ability to perform prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
- Ability to sit and climb stairs
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient for the role
- Strong sense of smell and touch
- Ability to reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments with possible exposure to allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current CPR certification required
- Current state certification or proof of training as a Certified Nursing Assistant required
- Minimum 12 hours of in-service training required during each 12-month period
Schedule and Employment
