Join Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Infusion Immediate Care Unit at our Morehead location. This full-time position supports patients receiving infusion therapy and immediate care services in a fast-paced oncology setting. You will work Monday through Friday on day shifts, providing direct patient care and assisting the nursing team in delivering compassionate support to cancer patients.
Clinical Setting
You will work in the Infusion Immediate Care Unit at Carolinas Medical Center - Levine Cancer Institute, supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment and related care.
Responsibilities
- Support patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene
- Take vital signs and measure height and weight
- Feed and ambulate patients according to specific procedures
- Maintain patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff
- Orient patients and families to the unit and instruct on safety measures
- Assist with clerical duties including answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records
- Maintain stock supply items and inventory management
- Perform technical tasks with appropriate training, including 12-lead electrocardiogram administration and routine venipuncture
- Perform duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide I per applicable state Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I Tasks List
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required for new hires on or after 7/22/2018)
- Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I
- BLS certification per policy guidelines
Physical Requirements
This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling. You must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. You must speak and understand English in good understandable terms and have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing is required.
Schedule
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, five 8-hour shifts
- Day shift schedule
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $19.80 - $29.70 per hour
- Base compensation determined by qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training
