Certified Nursing Assistant

AdventHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses, assisting with treatments, patient hygiene, comfort, and safety in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. You will work the night shift on a full-time basis, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture
• Function appropriately in clinical emergencies
• Follow prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of protective equipment, perform handwashing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Assist in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse
• Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy
• Participate in obtaining a nursing history and report abnormalities to the registered nurse
• Assist in identifying patient needs
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Exhibit a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and support quality standards and initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C)

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of applicable patient care technician experience
• Previous bedside patient care experience in an acute care unit, unit secretary role, monitor technician position, or equivalent medical experience

Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time position
• Night shift (three 12-hour shifts)
• Pay range: $19.38 to $31.01 per hour
• New hire sign-on bonus eligible up to $10,000
