The opportunity

Job Description

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room RN to join our surgical team at Memorial City Hospital. In this role, you will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, efficient care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. You will conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, provide patient education, and maintain accurate medical records while prioritizing safety, compassion, and personalization.

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday
  • 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs
  • Coordinate planning for nursing care delivery with the interdisciplinary team
  • Make appropriate clinical decisions in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members
  • Coordinate treatment plans and develop or implement discharge and transfer plans
  • Participate in systematic evaluation of programs, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes
  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and procedures
  • Manage time, supplies, and productivity within budgetary specifications
  • Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory and continuing education requirements and maintaining skills competency
  • May serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current State of Texas RN license or temporary/compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience level: RN I (less than 1 year), RN II (1-3 years), RN III (3-10 years), or RN IV (10+ years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Cardiovascular Operating Room RN experience

Additional Requirements

  • Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and nursing unit requirements
  • Must adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
