Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse RN

AdventHealth is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide safe and effective nursing care in our perioperative setting. In this role, you will work with cardiovascular and surgical patients, administering medications, treatments, and diagnostic measures as delegated by physicians. You will receive and accompany perioperative and pre-procedural patients to the operating suite, maintain thorough records of each patient's perioperative procedure, and handle specimens according to hospital and lab policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to perioperative patients
• Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic measures as delegated by the physician
• Receive and accompany perioperative and pre-procedural patients to the operating suite
• Maintain thorough and complete records of each patient's perioperative procedure according to established standards
• Care for and handle specimens according to hospital and lab policy
• Make sound judgments in referring situations beyond your ability or scope to the proper person
• Review and recommend changes to nursing policies and procedures
• Assist with cleaning rooms, restocking supplies, and sustaining the LEAN process
• Assume charge responsibility of the appropriate unit in the absence or delegation of the Charge Nurse or Manager/Director
• Float to other cardiovascular or surgical service units as patient or census needs require
• Participate in training and precepting new staff, sharing knowledge and skills
• Be available for on-call shifts as assigned to ensure appropriate staffing coverage for the unit
• Respond to code situations within the department

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing
• One or more years of acute care nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• One or more years of operating room (OR) experience
• Perioperative Nursing certification

Additional Requirements

• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located
• Subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law
