Assistant Nurse Manager-Operating Room

Bridgeport Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room. In this leadership role, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to provide direction and oversight of patient care, unit operations, and staff functions. You will display advanced leadership in management, clinical practice, performance improvement, and staff development. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction of the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced skill in assessing health care needs, including interviewing, observing, collecting healthcare data, performing systems assessments, and identifying patient support systems on admission
• Initiate and develop Interdisciplinary Plans of Care utilizing assessment information and nursing care guidelines
• Prioritize patient care based on clinical assessments
• Evaluate patient responses to healthcare interventions and assess outcomes
• Document patient outcomes accurately, consistently, and appropriately
• Actively assist the Nurse Manager with monthly and weekly documentation reviews
• Display advanced knowledge and proficiency in patient care delivery and serve as a clinical resource for staff

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
• Intraoperative RN experience required
• Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills

Education

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred
• Degreed ANM must complete 10 contact hours annually
• Non-degreed ANM must complete 6 credit hours towards a bachelor's degree and 6 contact hours annually
