This position is an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Operating Room, responsible for ensuring safe and appropriate delivery of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be accountable for the smooth, effective, and efficient functioning of the OR during your assigned shift with minimal direction from the Department Head.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, instruct, and assist department technical staff to ensure patient care objectives and unit policies are met
- Coordinate with surgeons and departments to ensure specialty equipment and supplies are available for procedures
- Provide high-quality, safe, and cost-effective nursing care to all surgical patients utilizing the nursing process
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on patient and family needs
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, and infection control
- Utilize evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and the Florida State Nurse Practice Act
- Review orders and test results, documenting care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Assist the Department Head with employment interviews, staff performance issues and needs, and employee scheduling

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the operating room
- Current Florida RN license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to the operating room unit
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
- Management experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
