Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Operating Room

West Boca Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room. This full-time position on a rotating shift offers an opportunity to lead and support the surgical services team while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.

You will be accountable for the smooth, effective, and efficient functioning of the operating room during your assigned shift with minimal direction from the Department Head. This role combines clinical nursing responsibilities with supervisory and operational duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, instruct, and assist department technical staff to ensure patient care objectives and unit policies are met
• Coordinate with surgeons and departments to ensure specialty equipment and supplies are available for procedures
• Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective nursing care to patients undergoing surgical services
• Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on patient and family needs
• Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, and infection control
• Utilize evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and the Florida State Nurse Practice Act
• Review orders and test results, and document care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Assist the Department Head with employment interviews, staff performance issues and needs, and employee scheduling
• Work toward discharge of patients with an optimum level of care provided

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN program
• Current Florida RN license
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the operating room

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Management experience
• Yearly competencies specific to the operating room unit
