APP - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Wound Inpatient

Sanford Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient wound care team at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. This is a full-time position providing direct patient care in a specialty wound care setting within a large rural health system.

You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patient health concerns across the lifespan, working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary care team members. Your responsibilities will include performing patient assessments with medical histories and physical examinations, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions within your scope of practice, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging studies, and prescribing medications and therapies in compliance with regulations. You will educate and counsel patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans, perform procedures and treatments within your scope of practice, and assist with procedures as indicated. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement activities.

Clinical Setting

This is an inpatient-only position at Sanford Medical Center Fargo, a facility within the largest rural health system in the United States.

Schedule

• Full-time, 1.0 FTE required
• 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Day shifts only
• No weekends
• No holidays

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the ARC-PA or equivalent accrediting program accepted by the state licensing board
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in each state of practice
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by state)
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical experience in specialty area (wound care)
