Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care at Pelican Rapids Clinic in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with patients of all ages, from infants to older adults, in a collaborative primary care setting.
Clinical Setting
Pelican Rapids Clinic is located at 211 E Mill St, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572. This is a rural health facility within Sanford Health's network.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments for patients across the lifespan
- Obtain and interpret patient histories and diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic medical conditions
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within the scope of practice
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
- Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate, such as wound care and suturing
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record system
- Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
- State Controlled Substance License, if required by state
- National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC)
- Current specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in primary care or family medicine
- If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred

- Full-time position
- 40 hours per week
- Day shifts, 8 hours per shift
Compensation and Benefits
Annual compensation range: $92,820 - $157,212. Actual compensation offers may vary based on education, training, certification, experience, scope of practice, and expected job requirements.
