Job Description

Piedmont Athens Regional Specialty Services is seeking an experienced Lead Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to oversee behavioral health clinic operations in Athens. This leadership role combines clinical practice with administrative and supervisory responsibilities, requiring you to work regularly as a staff provider while managing day-to-day operations across outpatient and inpatient settings.

In this position, you will develop and coach providers and support staff for career growth and high performance, supervise colleagues to ensure quality care and patient engagement metrics are achieved, and drive financial results and profitability. You will assess educational and training needs, support practice development, and perform a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practice.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall clinic operations and day-to-day administrative duties
  • Develop, coach, and supervise advanced practice providers and support staff
  • Assess educational and training needs for staff development
  • Ensure quality care delivery and patient engagement metrics are met
  • Drive financial results and clinic profitability
  • Perform clinical duties as a staff provider in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Support practice development initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a recognized, accredited school with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, or WHNP), OR
  • Physician Assistant degree with current Georgia State Composite Board license
  • ACLS certification upon hire
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification upon hire
  • Current Georgia license as a Physician Assistant with updated NCCPA certification, OR
  • Current Georgia Advanced Practice Nursing license

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of previous supervisory or lead experience
