Anticipated School Nurse

Amherst Central Schools is seeking a full-time Registered Professional Nurse to provide school health services districtwide. This position begins December 1, 2026, and offers an anticipated salary of $26.06 to $33.87 per hour (rates currently under negotiation).

Responsibilities

• Administer student medications and complete required paperwork
• Maintain student health records and confidentiality in accordance with District procedures and guidelines
• Respond to student health emergencies with knowledge of office equipment and emergency protocols
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding health concerns and care
• Coordinate with school personnel on health-related matters

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (must be scanned and attached to application)
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow District health care and medication procedures
• Ability to administer medications and complete associated documentation
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle emergencies effectively with working knowledge of office equipment
• Professional, kind, caring, and patient demeanor when working with students, parents, and staff
• Strong work ethic
• Fingerprinting through the NYS Department of Education (required for all new employees)
