Ambulatory Registered Nurse - SJ General Surgery

University of Utah Health is seeking an Ambulatory Registered Nurse for the General Surgery clinic at the South Jordan Health Center. This position provides nursing care in an outpatient primary and specialty care setting, managing a variety of patient needs from routine health checkups and vaccinations to chronic illness management.

In this role, you will assess patient needs, deliver nursing care including administering medications and performing procedures, provide patient and family education, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient outcomes.

This position is posted at multiple career levels based on your qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skill set:

• Nurse Level 1 (N1) – Supervised Learner: Entry-level nurse developing foundational clinical skills while providing patient care under close supervision.
• Nurse Level 2 (N2) – Independent Practitioner: Developing nurse who independently manages routine patient care and escalates complex clinical needs as appropriate.
• Nurse Level 3 (N3) – Confident Practitioner: Experienced nurse who independently manages typical patient complexity, anticipates needs, and adapts care to clinical variations.

The final position level and corresponding compensation will be determined at the time of offer based on your assessed competencies, experience, and alignment with the requirements of each level.

Schedule and Work Environment

• Schedule: Monday, Wednesday-Friday, 10-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if relocating to Utah. If not relocating to Utah, you must maintain a current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license.
• Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
