Advanced Practice Provider, Same Day Clinic (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant)

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for its Same Day Clinic. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent healthcare needs within a collaborative team-based care model.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a same-day clinic environment alongside physicians, nurses, medical assistants, registration staff, and support team members. The clinic serves patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and other urgent healthcare concerns.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent healthcare concerns
• Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform focused physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations, credentialing privileges, and organizational policies
• Perform procedures and treatments consistent with licensure, training, competency, and clinic needs
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure appropriate follow-up services
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, preventive health measures, and indications for follow-up care
• Support patient flow initiatives by promoting efficient, timely, and high-quality visits while maintaining exceptional patient experiences
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care coordination activities, and operational efforts that support organizational goals and patient satisfaction
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record
• Promote a welcoming, compassionate, and team-oriented clinic environment

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Missouri
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in urgent care, same-day care, family medicine, primary care, emergency medicine, or occupational health
• Experience practicing within a team-based care environment
• Experience performing office-based procedures
• Rural healthcare experience
• Interest in quality improvement, access improvement, and patient experience initiatives

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current Missouri Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure required
• National certification appropriate to specialty and licensure type required
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Successful completion of GVMH credentialing and privileging process required
• Maintenance of all required licenses, certifications, registrations, and continuing education throughout employment required

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and direct patient care activities
• Patient assessment, examination, treatment, and procedural responsibilities
• Computer and documentation activities throughout the workday
• Ability to respond to changing patient volumes and operational needs

This is a PRN (as-needed) position with scheduled weekly hours of 0.
