National Jewish Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider Manager to lead a team of Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) across designated departments and divisions. This hybrid role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, offering the opportunity to shape APP practice models, develop staff, and drive quality improvements while maintaining your clinical skills.
This position is 80% clinical practice in your specialty area and 20% administrative leadership time. You will serve as a dyad leadership partner with Division Chiefs to oversee APP clinical operations, implement standardized workweek expectations, track productivity and quality outcomes, manage scheduling and time-off requests, coordinate onboarding and orientation, and complete annual performance evaluations.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Staff Management
- Manage and develop an effective APP team of 10-25 employees, providing communication, guidance, and resources
- Recruit, interview, select, hire, train, orient, mentor, evaluate, coach, counsel, discipline, and reward staff
- Determine staff qualifications and competency; establish and monitor safety and regulatory compliance
- Complete annual performance evaluations
Operational Management
- Partner with organizational, department, and division leadership to track APP productivity and quality metrics
- Oversee Kronos timekeeping, review time-out and scheduling requests
- Oversee new APP onboarding, orientation, continuing education, and mentorship programs
- Contribute to APP workforce planning and program development
- Serve as communication liaison to APP staff regarding clinical and administrative issues
Clinical Practice Optimization
- Partner with Division and interdisciplinary leaders to optimize APP roles and practice models at the top of scope
- Participate in department, division, and organizational quality initiatives to identify improvements and implement changes
- Represent APPs at leadership meetings and ensure APP participation with the AP Council and other organizational committees
- Partner with the Executive Director of Advanced Practice to establish structured onboarding, continuing education, and mentorship programs
Clinical Duties
- Perform and document history, physical exam, and medical decision-making to support plan of care
- Utilize appropriate clinical resources to support evidence-based practice decisions
- Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and care team members to optimize patient care quality, safety, and efficiency
- Seek expertise of physicians and APP colleagues to support medical decision-making as needed
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and Medical Staff Bylaws
- Maintain continuing education to support knowledge and competencies required for clinical practice
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in department, division, and organizational committees
- Participate in Advanced Practice Council meetings and activities
- Accept additional responsibilities within scope to support organizational strategic priorities
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Minimum three years of clinical experience working as an APP
- Two years of progressive leadership experience
- Colorado RN, APRN, and RXN licensure or PA licensure
- Active DEA registration
- APRN or PA certification by national accrediting body (ANCC, PNCB, or NCCPA)
- Active BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification appropriate to clinical practice area (American Heart Association)

Schedule
Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Travel between National Jewish Health sites of practice for APPs as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $135,674.89 - $179,430.05
