GBMC Health Partners is seeking a full-time Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our established Medicine for Adults practice on our main campus in Towson, Maryland. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive clinical management of adult patients in a primary care setting under general supervision.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a primary care environment with exposure to normal patient care conditions, including possible exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature variations. You may encounter communicable diseases and adverse working conditions related to patient care activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient evaluations and physical examinations with appropriate documentation
- Write standard orders and orders related to pre-existing conditions in accordance with hospital policy
- Evaluate patient progress on a continuing basis and collaborate with the attending physician to alter treatment modalities as needed
- Assess nursing, medical, social, and educational needs of assigned patients
- Initiate referrals to appropriate ancillary departments and community resources based on patient need
- Write progress notes for each visit documenting patient progress and treatment regimen
- Establish medical diagnoses in compliance with your approved contract
- Refer problems requiring physician consultation and document appropriately
- Make immediate referrals of acute or life-threatening conditions to the physician or designee
- Perform technical functions as covered by your delegation agreement and approved NP agreement
- Document results of technical functions and report abnormal findings to the physician
- Monitor patient response to technical functions performed
- Act as a clinical resource
- Participate in nursing and hospital performance improvement initiatives
- Provide health teaching to patients and families regarding preventative care and current medical conditions
- Plan and review home care instructions with patients and families, including community resources and hospital-based ancillary services
- Pursue educational advancement and maintain required certifications and mandatory inservice training
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Certified Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner, OR Licensed Physician Assistant
- 2-5 years of experience in Primary Care
- Valid contract with preceptors
- Completion of Healthcare Provider CPR course, renewed yearly
- High level of analytical ability for assessing patients and implementing appropriate interventions
- Substantial interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff, physicians, patients, and family members
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80 percent of work time, often during stressful situations
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods

Compensation
Salary range: $82,774.65 - $137,823.94. Final salary offer will be based on your qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with organizational needs.
