Join Piedmont Medical Care Corporation as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Surgical OR/Specialty Operations team in Macon. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, working alongside physicians to deliver comprehensive care for surgical patients across hospital and office settings.
You will conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat patients, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and coordinate laboratory studies and professional consultations. As a key member of the surgical service line team, you will specialize in the care of post-operative and critically ill patients in hospital settings, as well as pre- and post-operative evaluations in an office setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical exams and diagnose and treat patients
- Collect and document patient data
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Coordinate laboratory studies and professional consultations for surgical patients
- Provide specialized care for post-operative and critically ill patients in hospital settings
- Conduct pre- and post-operative evaluations in office settings
- Deliver high-quality patient care
- Contribute to research, teaching, and consultation activities
- Provide leadership within the organization
- Follow established standards and practices while promoting health and managing acute and chronic diseases
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia Advanced Practice Nursing license, OR Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program with current Georgia State Composite Board license
- Previous experience working in a surgical office with breast cancer and/or colorectal cancer experience
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia upon hire, OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, or WHNP) upon hire
- Updated NCCPA certification for PAs upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire
