Riverside Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week temporary assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing on the day shift. You will work in the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex, providing comprehensive patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe patient transitions to appropriate care settings.
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- 13-week temporary assignment
Compensation
- $65 per hour
- Hiring range: $45.00 - $85.00 per hour (actual pay determined by temporary commitment and business needs)
Responsibilities
- Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs using standards of practice appropriate to the Critical Care/Telemetry specialty
- Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, treatments, and procedures
- Apply evidence-based standards of practice and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in coordinating care
- Facilitate safe patient transitions to the next appropriate care setting
- Demonstrate urgency in patient throughput while maintaining consistent, competent, and ethical care
- Focus on quality outcomes and current evidence-based practice
- Assess and educate diverse patient populations, modifying education methods to ensure comprehension
- Coordinate individualized patient education and discharge-specific education involving family and caregivers
- Evaluate patient comprehension and document appropriately
- Complete all required clinical and quality documentation per Riverside Health System standards and regulatory requirements
- Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations
- Evaluate own support needs and utilize identified systems
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical Registered Nurse experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP)
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute
Eligibility Restriction
- Registered Nurses employed with Riverside Health System within six months prior to the assignment start date are not eligible for this position.
